Day Two of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in Stockholm

by Anna Kopito | 28.08.13

The second day of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week gave us the opportunity to reflect and analyze the events. After two busy days in Stockholm, full of inspiration, we knew what we would like to bring back to Tel Aviv.

We got impressed by the Swedish and Danish supermodels, who flew home to participate in the relative small fashion week and support the Swedish fashion industry. It would be great if Bar Refaeli could do the same.

Not only international models, but also guests from abroad will help us spread the word about Tel Aviv and its fashion. Think about what Marcelo Burlon (one of the international organizers of Gindi Fashion Week) has done already for the city.

We appreciated the effort which the Swedish brands put on the shows. It is not only important to design a great collection, but also to create a concept by carefully choosing music, styling and venue. Cheap Monday showed their spring collection yesterday in Hallwylska museet [The Hallwyl Museum], which not only helped us to better understand the ideas behind every piece, but also made it memorable.

More Israeli designers should take the step and show their collections outside the ordinary fashion week tent, maybe in museums, restaurants, galleries or on the beach.

For the Telavivians, you can find Cheap Monday’s collection on Belle & Sue.
